I haven't done one of these in a while, so I just couldn't pass this one up:

J: They used John Lovitz on "Friends" before! As a different character! That's just wrong.

me: Sitcoms have been doing that for ages! I remember when I was a kid there was that police sitcom that used to do that all the time.* What was the name of that show? Ugh...

J: Barney Fife?

me: No... Barney Fife was a character not a show and that's not even close.

J: When was it on? 80's? 90's?

me: No, I was just a kid and it was in reruns already. It had to be from the late 70's or early 80's. It was a precinct and they had a holding cell in with their offices. What was that show?

J: "Magnum P.I."?

me: That wasn't a sitcom!

J: Yeah it was! Didn't you see Tom Selleck's shorts?**

** For the record, I still think that Tom Selleck is hot. You can disagree with me if you want, but you will be wrong. And contrary to what J says, he does not look like a porn star because of his mustache!
